From 9 to 17 July 2016, the very first edition of the WTA tennis tournament Ladies Championship Gstaad will take place. One month from its start date, the Vaud-based IT services company iXion Services SA is taking up a new challenge by signing a partnership with the organisers of the event.

Ladies Championship Gstaad
The Ladies Championship Gstaad is organised by the company Grand Chelem Event, a company specialising in events and sponsorship, which has successfully managed the organisation of the men's tennis tournament in Gstaad since 2006, J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad. Due to its unique setting and the excellent conditions offered to its competitors, this new tournament is one of the most prestigious events in the Swiss sports calendar.
Five Swiss women will be in contention to win the first edition, including Timea Bacsinszky from Vaud (WTA 9), still riding high from her magnificent performance at Roland-Garros, as well as the heroine of the Fed Cup in April 2016, Viktorija Golubic (WTA 130) and the Swiss revelation and winner of the junior title in Paris, Rebeka Masarova. Stefanie Voegele (WTA 103) and Patty Schnyder (WTA 399) have also confirmed their participation.
The Entry List of this clay tournament also reveals other well-known names: Spain's Carla Suárez Navarro (WTA 14), known for her fighting style of play and one-handed backhand. The 23-year-old Frenchwoman, Caroline Garcia (WTA 40), one of the rising stars on the circuit, is currently in 18th position on the season standings. With Holland's Kiki Bertens (WTA 58), a recent semi-finalist at Roland-Garros, and Germany's Julia Georges (WTA 57), spectators will be able to discover other stars on the WTA Tour.
